Radu is a trainee journalist, but an international scandal involving an underage prostitute is the chance for him to prove his value. However, the task turns out to be trickier than expected and the more he approaches his goal, the more he gets close to some moral limits.
Featuring a superb performance from Tudor Istodor, The Fixer is a sharp critique of media ethics. Though having thematic kinship to the works of the Romanian New Wave, the film is formally distinguished on its own—masterfully shot and probing moral questions with prudent, yet affecting, observation.
