Our take
Whistling birds, rippling breezes, and the ticking of bicycle wheels stir Guy Gilles’s summery film, which patches fragments of memory into the present. Flame-haired and honey-voiced, Delphine Seyrig’s sylphlike character plays God and Eve in her very own Eden—a perfectly melancholy paradise lost.
