Synopsis

Evlyne, a judge’s young wife, falls in love with Remy, that lives in Paris, during Holidays. After following him in the lovers city, she decides to return home to inform her husband about all – but her plane crashes.

Our take

René Clément (Plein Soleil) directs Michèle Morgan and Jean Gabin in this romantic drama following an adulterous passion. With beautiful B&W cinematography that plays dramatic games with light and shadow, The Glass Castle tips its hat to Jean Cocteau—who Clément had assisted on Beauty and the Beast.
