After his buddy Lenny, an African American soldier, is killed in Vietnam, Sgt. Phil Duncan leaves the Marines to escort the body home, notify Lenny’s white girlfriend, Sheryl, and take care of Lenny’s “Baby,” which turns out to be a motorcycle.
