Jean Baptiste, a homesteader in the far off Dakotas and lone African American in this wilderness, meets newcomer Jack Stewart, a Scotsman, with his motherless daughter, Agnes. Agnes maybe the woman of Jean Baptiste’s dreams but their love is forbidden by law.
