Our take

One of the national treasures of Polish cinema, Wojciech Has fashions cinematic universes out of byzantine sets, hallucinatory images, and galleries of grotesque characters. Hour-Glass Sanitorium is an unforgettable trip through the looking glass, and a master at the height of his powers.
