This Italian spectacle about the doomed Roman city, focuses on the lives of a statesman, a pagan priest, a witch, a blind beggar and a beautiful woman who live in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius. All of their lives interconnect in the gladiatorial arena, just as the volcano erupts.
