Teenager Li Chunfen is a bus conductress in Yunnan province in the 1960s, travelling the mountain roads between Longze and Xiangyang. The bus driver is the fatherly Old Cui, famous for once shaking the hands of Chairman Mao. One particular passenger attracts the attention of Chunfen.
