Kiyoshi, a young, well-to-do officer, is sent to the Izu Peninsula near Tokyo. Some villagers tell Kiyoshi that the owner of a nearby restaurant and father of two single daughters has a spare room in his house. Relationships between family members will not be the same after his arrival.
