A day-cleaner in Istanbul is happy to live a simple life, as long as he has enough time to write and perform his Arabesque pop songs on the side. He makes a living doing odd jobs for several people. Although he never pursues his goals ambitiously, he keeps his dreams of being a singer one day.
Nesimi Yetik’s subtly heart-breaking debut feature is a poignant character study with Arabesque overtones that is driven by musical daydreams. A nuanced performance by the impressively adaptable Turkish actor Tansu Biçer enhances this dramedy’s layered effect, preparing us for a sublime finale.
