1999. To give his blind wife sight, Dr. Farber invents a process that transmits images directly into her visual system. So, Farber’s son Sam sets out on a global journey to “see” and record the world for his mother—during which a French lady, Margot, falls in love with him and pursues him.

German maestro Wim Wenders hits the road across four continents in this ambitious science-fiction odyssey. Defined by the director as “the ultimate road movie,” and with its first cut scoring an epic 20-hour runtime (!), the film is an outlandish yet ultimately rewarding journey of a movie.
