Growing up, Wendemi becomes rebellious and unruly. Being ill-treated by his adoptive parents, he is taken away and entrusted to Koudougou’s chief, whom Wendemi is to accompany on official trips. One day, Wendemi injures his foot and stays put in a village he visits with his new adoptive father.
