Jozin Migurski is a suitor for spirited Albina, daughter of an aristocratic land-owner. He joins in on the attempted revolt in Warsaw, is captured and is sent to serve at a Siberian border outpost with no hope of returning. Naively, Albina chooses to go there and begin life with Jozin.
