Ton, a young Bangkok architect, is dispatched to oversee a building site in a tsunami-ravaged seaside town. There, he meets and falls for Na, who runs a hotel and is equally drawn to Ton. As their relationship flourishes amidst the ruins, the true toll of the town’s tragic past begins to surface.

Influenced by Tsai Ming-liang and fellow Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Aditya Assarat’s lyrical debut tenderly reckons with the emotional damage left in the wake of natural disasters. Like mushrooms after the rain, unexpected connections beautifully grow on the wreckage of yesteryear.
