Eva has been chosen to marry Sir Remy, who is haunted by the death of his unfaithful wife Mathilde, and believes he can still smell her perfume wafting through the castle. Eva was chosen because of her striking resemblance to Mathilde. She soon realizes Remy’s impure intentions.
