Our take
Juxtaposing the bewildering experience of newfound desire with the proud sensuality of adults, Mermaids portrays coming of age as a lifelong adventure. Come for Cher’s glamorous sass and Winona Ryder’s hilariously raunchy internal monologue; stay for Bob Hoskins’s radiant charm.
