Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
The story of Brian Clough’s 44 day stint as manager of Leeds United Football Club takes place in 1974. When Don Revie quits Leeds to become the England boss, the outspoken Brian Clough takes charge. Determined to impose his own style upon the team, Clough soon alienates his players and the board.
Michael Sheen continued his collaboration with screenwriter Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) with his illuminating performance as enigmatic football manager Brian Clough. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film diverges from regular sports fare with its comedic telling of failure and indignity.
