The Beckmanns used to have more money than they could spend. Now the mother supports her daughter with a small pension in an apartment in Portugal. The daughter, in her mid-50s, never needed a job until now. Filmmaker Eva Mulvad observes their attempts to survive, their hopes and confrontations.
