Étienne Dinet (1861-1929) was one of the leading French Orientalist painters and lithographers. Having lived much of his life in Algeria, where he is buried, he called himself Nasreddine Dinet after converting to Islam. A museum in Bou-Saâda, Algeria, bears his name.
