In the tricky terrain between school life and her first house parties, twelve-year-old Mylia is having a hard time finding her place. Her friend Jimmy from the nearby Abenaki reserve encourages her to break free.

The cinematography and the actors are both absolutely radiant, in the beauty of passing moments, but whenever the script comes around, every theme or metaphor is underlined and repeated a dozen times, especially in the history class' scenes that spoon-feeds the spectators as much as the students, asking "What does it mean to be a citizen?" with a falsely naive tone.
