Ratings & Reviews

  1. Adam Whybray's rating of the film A Quiet Week in the House

4.6 stars. A howl of despair in the face of the Warsaw Pact Invasion and the inevitable suppression of the Prague Spring. The indeterminate things that hide within the locked rooms of the house are haunting in their monstrous irresolvability. From the wire-bound dentures to the sharply lethal sweets to the pissing on the floor the film contains much that is ugly and violent, but also deeply melancholic.
