Amador has been imprisoned for two years for arson. Released from prison, he moves back to his hometown in the mountains of Galicia, to live with his elderly mother. Life goes by slowly and simply, until one night when a fire starts to devastate the region and Amador is unfairly blamed for it.

Oliver Laxe (Mimosas) turned to his homeland of Galicia for his third film, a work of mesmerizing humility and ambiguity, and a Jury prize-winner in Cannes. The eerie majesty of nature and of human emotions imbue its tactile images, stunningly shot on film—including visceral scenes of real fires.
