Enjoyable late 70s flick stocked with great actors, unfortunately given a rather weak script. Hoffman was considering a return to stage acting at the time, and he does kinda phone in his performance (by his standards). Redgrave is excellent however and lends an aura and mystique to the role it needs for the film to succeed, which it does despite its flaws. Worth checking out. 3.5 stars
like it said: 'a fictional solution to a real mystery'; so I guess it can't be helped that the aura of probability and make-believe was high throughout the movie. But Vanessa Redgrave was a real star, Timothy Dalton was good as Archie, and Dustin Hoffman's suave style stole my heart and mind..
