CINEMANIA '15 A charming French film elevated by superior performances from its' three leads: Anais Demoustier; Sophie Verbeeck; Felix Moati. Nothing new in a love triangle tale especially its elements of romantic comedy but it works despite the trappings.
When the soap's worn down to nearly nothing you wet it and stick it to a new cake of soap. Firstly, as my mother would say, you avoid waste and best of all, they stay stuck together. As a single cake of soap. A bit like as in The Fly...have you seen it? After the fusion, the big soap will be the same, but more! Stirring stuff, eh?
Perhaps a menage à trots has to head in the direction of farce, but being French steers this farce away from slapstick and smuty innuendo and into a chique sexy and more importantly touchingly romantic tale of love, life and acceptance.
Although it is sexy in a beautiful manner, this film lacks a core element: some script writer willing to finish the story line. All of the sudden one character just leaves the building: The movie is over. A huge lack of imagination to finish an otherwise worth watching soft-erotic film.
Inconsequential film with very little to offer in the way of plot nothing to offer of any depth absent really of any genuine reflection with some pretty people having fairly dull sex after having displayed genuine disloyalty through which they find each other? I don't think so...
A nice feel good movie about a love triangle, like only the French can make. Very simple plot, but with 3 really great performances, especially from Anais Demoustier (who also starred in the sensual The New Girlfriend last year), whose sensuality and charm lightens the film and steels the show. She will be a great lead actress, I predict. A cute and heartfelt love story, with a few very funny moments.
