Synopsis

An octogenarian couple live a life of isolation confined in one room of a big, empty and time-worn house in a city. Plagued by uncertainty of tomorrow and the weary mundanity of today, they write to the President of India, to plead guilty of a crime they believe to have committed and request mercy.

Our take

Observing an elderly couple, powerless at the ebb of life, An Irrelevant Dialogue offers a sensitive take on the brutal subjects of aging and euthanasia. Through its contemplative camerawork, this quiet, poignant short provokes us to question the difference between living and existing.
