Murga is the most electrifying new discovery I've come across in some time. The obvious association is w/ Rohmer, though Buñuel is there as well in Murga's poker-faced, understated, conversational style set against the mysterious sense of narrative & philosophical urgency associated w/ Ana's quest. There's a languid, sun-drenched, leisurely sophistication here that does not quite conceal a genuine emotional violence.
