With an opening sequence that established bourgeois waste with impetus and bravura, Dabat's film uses St.Tropez for his indictment on haute bourgeoisie's dolce vita. All the symptoms are here: nihilism, boredom, wealth's immoral sources and love's suffering as a bourgeois disease. Perrin and Deneuve are charming and the film features a stunningly ironic anti-'La Terra Trema' scene of a night party. Recommended.
