A film-within-a-film thriller about two teen girls among a small group of people whom are terrorized in a movie theater by a killer while watching a horror film about a murderous optometrist who stalks his victims in a movie theater in the film.

The 1st act twist isn't gimmicky, but it's a commentary on violent media as a type of hypnosis. Thus, Anguish's metaphor is very conservative-- and I personally don't agree with it at all-- but it still gets its point across well, so one can't fault it on a symbolic basis. However, while the parallel narratives work both in terms of plot and message, in terms of character, emotion, and entertainment, it's very bland.
Interesting idea that really doesn't go anywhere. I like the faux-american movie theater and setting, comes off as too clean and cold. "The Mommy" film within the film was more interesting than the pullback film.
