Famed cinematographer Christopher Doyle made his directorial debut with this film about a Japanese man who arrives in Hong Kong and plants himself at a local gay bar inhabited by a cast of eccentric characters.
This film is not currently playing on MUBI but 30 other great films are. See what's now showing
really special. brings home the sort of warm, intimate nonsense of everyday human relationships and activities like few others. like a less terrifying borges (indeed, asano and funes might have some interesting conversations). particularly enjoyed the couple little monologues delivered by kevin.
and obviously, doyle directing doyle's cinematography is an absolute celebration.
