What are people saying?

  • Martin Wilson's rating of the film Barabbas

An eerie epic about a dead man walking. A vision of life as trudging from one place of execution to another. And it takes decades. The story of Barabbas is the meeting place of religion and existentialism. The central section set in a sulphur mine is brilliantly done, a real tour de force, and long before cgi. Fleischer has made some impressive films but this is clearly his masterpiece. Anthony Quinn IS Barabbas.
