It remains as perhaps the best adaptation of the Batman comics to date. Every episode has a high caliber of animation, voice talent, and storytelling. I actually enjoy it more as an adult than I did as a kid. The Schumacher films feel more cartoonish than this does.
Ridiculously dark for children's TV, with some plots concentrating on crack houses and child slavery, containing some standout episodes (and some utterly crap ones). The female characters particularly shine in this adaptation of Batman, Poison Ivy being a big favourite for me, but they weren't used as much as they could've been. The tone split between kid friendly and adult crime thriller makes for strange viewing.
