A hot garbage juice piece of shit mess of a movie, its like a rip off of modern warfare with some robot ET type things(matter of fact I rather be playing that then watching this bs).there's so many things in this film that executed so fuckin poorly, how u gonna make a generic sci fi epic on a budget?....what a waste of "talent" and time...
IMDB, in the quotes section: "'Maybe I can help. I'm a vetinarian.' [She mispronounces veterinarian]." I spotted this on Netflix, remembered it existed, and became quickly incensed. Ridiculously jingoistic, incomprehensibly shot, masturbatory and somehow even stupider than its stupid, stupid title. Between this and that other silly goatfuck "Olympus Has Fallen," I'm pretty over Aaron Eckhart's overacting, dopey mug.
I like this kind of movie but this one doesn't have anything special. But I really enjoyed that line in the end: "We already had breakfast, sir" and what it represented. And really, every movie about war and that kind of stuff, I must say; congrats to all makeup artists on this one. It seems real!
This is a typical war movie just with Aliens added. The screenplay is somewhat bad, lack of dialogue, poor character development, worn out storyline and the ending is just as cliché as the rest of the film. It would have been ok though for a war flick if it was made fast paced but unfortunately this was overlong. The intensity of the effect sometimes gets very annoying.
I really like the beginning because it's like they took the outline of what they wanted to do for character development and turned each bullet point into a single shot, throwing away the rest of the work required to make us care about characters we're never going to care about in the end anyway. I mean this in a good way, saved a lot of time. --DiB
Roger Ebert is on drugs. I loved this movie! In the 1950's, we had John Wayne and WWII. Now we have movies like this. The story isn't aliens attacking, it's loss and commitment through hardship. And as with any war movie, it isn't about the enemy - it's about the soldiers. Nicely done.
