Van works in a large oilfield in Texas. Danilo spends all his days in the heart of the vessel where a humongous engine resides. Andrea has lived his whole life between mathematical formulae and the silence of the anechoic chamber. Vito has spent half of his life looking after slot machines. 

Co-directed by prolific composer Giorgio Ferrero, this sonically unnerving documentary traces the troubling life cycle of shiny but environmentally harmful products. By turns poetic and haunting, images of men working in isolated conditions lay bare the unseen labor undergirding today’s consumerism.
