An inventive example of auto-fiction, Burak Çevik’s second feature is an uncanny re-staging of a traumatic experience by way of a sly formal experiment. Never providing shortcuts to an understanding of his characters’ psyches, Çevik examines whether we can ever truly understand criminal motives.
