Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Michele, a mathematics professor, has started a new job at a school with some peculiar teaching methods. After a woman is murdered in his neighborhood, he thinks he has found the ideal woman in Bianca, a French teacher at the school, but begins to panic.
A little-seen comedy from Italian auteur Nanni Moretti (Dear Diary, The Son’s Room), Bianca mixes romantic melancholy with social satire to delightful effect. Set against the sun-drenched backdrop of 1980s Rome, this is one of the writer-director’s earliest yet most iconic achievements.
