A pretty uninspired action flick that has the Alps doubling for Finland (!!??) Silly plotting and hammy acting take away from what could have been a fun 'B' flick. When you're thinking 'White House Down' was better you know you're in trouble.
Big Game meanders along and lacks a tonal energy. The dialogue and characterization are bland, and the blossoming into manhood of its young character doesn't really say or do anything clever on the subject. Samuel L. Jackson even barely has fun with his role, as well, save a good one-liner before he shoots a guy. This spunk is what it's missing: as the cleverness isn't often, feeling like a bad tease.
Despite and fun premise, good cast, a promising director and decent production values this movie is tripped up by bad script. The action is a bit meh, the comedy does not hit the right notes and the direction is quite uninspired and cannot make this odd bird fly. There are some fun moments but overall this veers very close to disaster.
