Second decade of the 20th century: our lead character, Diwakaran, gets attracted to a new machine, the bioscope. He first encounters it at an exhibition by Frenchman DuPont, who holds shows on the coasts of Tamil Nadu. After buying the object, however, he soon gets superstitious about it.
Set in the early years of 20th century, this poetic drama observes day-to-day life of India’s colonial past through evocative images. A clash of tradition and modernity unfolds against the backdrop of movie-going making its appearance in the state of Kerala.
