Shiaaaaat! This episode was definitely one of my favourites: it's incredibly heart pounding and delivers a sinister final twist that left me completely shocked and confused. The scene with the little girl at the restaurant in the beginning of the episode, the lock on his bedroom door... everything gained a whole new dimension afterwards. I'll never look at that troll face meme the same way ever again!
The suspense successfully suspends, but what is the takeaway here? Three cheers for the vigilante surveillance state? Not that I expect anyone involved was trying to say that. They weren't trying to say anything at all--just twisting their way toward another empty gotcha.
A gripping episode that no-one comes out clean: from the Jigsaw-esque mastermind of the gorefest horror that is 'Saw', as bribing instigator of compromised figures, to the helpless accomplices with something to hide, whose level of misdemeanour is in question. Uncertainty remains ideologically: is there ever appropriate circumstances for pervasive surveillance and vigilante justice?
I kinda feel disappointed with this episode. SHUT UP AND DANCE has a very interesting concept. About someone who get blackmailed and must to do something. If (s)he doesn't, "they" will leak their privacy things. SHUT UP AND DANCE is good because this is a little bit close to our reality. When someone used technology to do such a bad thing. I didn't satisfy with its ending. There's no kick in it and I want more...
