Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Branches of the Tree

Un plaisant et solide éloge de la probité et de l'intégrité, pour une oeuvre réfléchie et maîtrisée où rayonne la solide maturité du réalisateur hindou Satyajit Ray...

  2. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Branches of the Tree

The incorruptible patriarch is confined to bed after a heart attack. The sons return from afar. Two are businessmen for whom money under the table is just the way things go; the youngest abhors corruption and flees to the stage; the last is brain-damaged after an accident, and in his cryptic utterances lie accusations of the others' failings. Not major Ray, no, but the hand of a master obviously guides things.
