A pretty good murder mystery in a western setting. Great imagery & standard low-key tough guy performance from Bronson. Once Bronson and Lauter teamed up and the bullets flew things got really fun. Not an amazing watch but a satisfying one.
19th century murder on a military train sounds like a prime setup for Agatha Christie--but swap Poirot for Charles Bronson here, and you get precisely what you'd expect--a claustrophobic little thriller, surprisingly violent on occasion, and transforming by the climax into a full-on (snowbound) western. If you appreciate Bronson, you'll appreciate this. Good supporting turn by Ben Johnson as a reprobate of sorts
