What are people saying?

  • Mugino's rating of the film Caught in the Web

Disappointing effort from Chen. It doesn't know if it's trying to be satire, tearjerker romance, social polemic, or techno-thriller. Wang as Shen is the most interesting and most capable of raising the film to Machiavellian heights, but the film gets distracted by the dull Ye who is far too much of a victim to inspire rich discourse on media and privacy. See Charlie Brooker's "Black Mirror" series instead.

  • Donato Bozzuto's rating of the film Caught in the Web

Could have been perfect if the film was shorter and the screenplay focused just on two or three of the main characters. It's still probably the best description of how the Internet (I mean globally, not just the Chinese web) has being permeating our everyday lives. You can check websites like chinasmack to get the idea of how accurate this is. Three stars
