Long live the King! In his final feature film, Elvis Presley plays it straight as John Carpenter (a departure from his characters in previous films). John falls in love with plainclothes nun Mary Tyler Moore. Can he win her heart?
This film is not currently playing on MUBI but 30 other great films are. See what's now showing
In contrast to Clambake, Habit works hard to say something about it's era, to exceed the parameters of conformity and actually have "meaning". That it ultimately fails to escape the gravity of planet profit-motive creates an uneasy orbit with the earnest cast and crew fighting the pull of crass commercial concerns. Interesting in its overambitious and underfunded way.
