Ratings & Reviews

  1. James Mackin's rating of the film Cinema Verite

James Gandolfini does a great job at playing an asshole documentary director who won't turn the cameras off. He is missed.

  2. Jeremy Ashlyn's rating of the film Cinema Verite

  3. msmichel's rating of the film Cinema Verite

Berman and Pulcini's look at the making of televisions' first entry into reality television "An American Family" misses its marks too often to be considered important. The story of the Loud family and the changes it went through as the ever present camera shaped their responses should have been a much more poignant and interesting story than what makes it to the screen here. Lane always good but film fails.

  4. MATTEO BITTANTI's rating of the film Cinema Verite

missed opportunity. the mitopoiesis of reality-tv needed a better narrative.
