Yes it's like a puzzle, one beautiful intricate puzzle. However, as lofty as it is, there are missing pieces that do not quite work. One thing that I do think was done well apart from the aesthetic, is the fact that it is not chronological, it plays out like a memory. Memory after memory remembered in either the most painful or beautiful way.
"i don't belong in a world where we don't end up together. there are parallel universes out there where this didn't happen. and whatever universe that is that's the one where my heart lives in."
beautiful at times, but it just didn't live up to its ambition.
I stumbled across this after watching Mr Robot & quickly became amazed by Sam Esmail directing. There's not a handful of films out there like this & there really needs to be.
Stop reading & start watching.
Every once in a while you find a film that is just so much more fantastic than you thought it would be, and you want to live in the moment of watching it forever. This is one of those films. Must say though, the ableist slurs did not impress me; gross.
well this totally fucked me up. gorgeously shot and art directed with a fantastic parallel universe/dream sequence concept. could easily have been an episode of black mirror. both stars act their hearts out, special kudos on justin long's part.
