Starts off with a tense and gritty atmosphere, but by the middle everything comes apart at the seams and it devolves into a glorified soap opera with a completely arbitrary (and forgettable) love triangle. A shame, really, as I've been waiting to see this a while. Very disappointed.
I was quite intrigued by the characters to be honest but the writing and direction undermines any emotional truth in my opinion. What should have been raw and emotionally harrowing becomes kind of haphazard and very day time TV. I think that Sullivan Stapleton does a good job here but is not given a fair chance to really explore his character. Still I think there are good things here but they are badly handled.
