DIE HARD 2 is more watchable than, say, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD, however Renny Harlin is no John McTiernan, thus we're stuck with bad acting (save for Bruce Willis and Bill Sadler) and action scenes that are merely adequate.
A decent sequel that suffers from trying to capture the magic of the first movie. Willis seems a bit jaded already in his most iconic role and the inclusion of "the wife in peril" is a clear misstep. Otherwise this is a good action movie with some cool set pieces with brisk and confident direction.
Sequel that delivers tons of action and ups the danger and Bruce Willis is still a cool action hero running away in snowy landscapes and blasting people off on an airport, but the script rehashes the original - hell even the wife is still in danger - and the villains are boring only helped by being acted by competent character actors.
