What are people saying?

  • Anthony De Luca's rating of the film Distant Thunder

3.8 Perhaps not as weighty as some of the other gritty Japanese 'working men' films of the mid 70s to early 80s, but this shares similar themes with Farewell to the Land, The Catch, The Youth Killer and Preparations for the Festival. Sweaty fellas. Financial woes. Small town restrictions. The collapse of the family unit. The women they love and the women they mistreat. And boozing. Lots of boozing.
