Ratings & Reviews

  1. Diderot's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Mildly entertaining but unremarkable look at the awkward competitiveness of a tight-knit world.

  2. smndvdcl's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Impressive comedy drama on the improv scene and a sterling ensemble cast. The tension between the collective and 'making it' with a breakthrough into an SNL style comedy 'premiership', deals with the competitive climate, sycophancy and the humanity the strains through their world of performance.

  6. Gabriele Pumo's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

  7. Steve Pulaski's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Life is the greatest session of improvisation you'll ever experience, though it might not always be as fun as being on-stage with a group of close buds, adlibbing and making up a crazy scenario in a matter of moments. Most of us are just winging it in a less glamorous way with far fewer people watching us. Life's a beach, play in the sand, don't overthink it, despite the fact that you will. And don't think twice.

  8. Ryan Swen's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

2016's Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

  9. Henrique Amud's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Birbiglia finally reaches his potential (even if is not a home run) with an ace cast and a simple, but heartfelt and all too real premise. I know nothing about improv comedy, but the message resonates soundly to anyone interested or invested in any kind of creative life!

  10. Viginti_tres's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Like Paterson, a moving depiction of art's fleeting, mercurial nature. Unlike Paterson, the art here isn't good or worth mourning. It's strange to watch a movie and be rooting for entropy, for people to grow up and lose their dreams.

  11. Justin Crowe's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

great cast, they nailed the concept of the film. felt very real and honest, some scenes felt like you were spying on real relationships

  12. †. Kennedy Pope's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Mike Birbiglia is one of the most genuine comedians out there in terms of his writing, and Don't Think Twice is fantastic proof of that sentiment. Overall a hilarious film on friendship and struggling for success.

  13. Blumes's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

    comedians painted real and funny

  14. Steve G.'s rating of the film Don't Think Twice

  15. aliasgenius's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

  16. Duncan Gray's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

The true promise of Mike's Sleepwalk With Me was its startlingly mature ending: a pathos for the way life doesn't turn out the way you'd think but you have to live with it anyway. Don't Think Twice adds to that and more. The dramaturgy ain't airtight, but the group dynamic is an empathetic ode not just to the people who make it, but the people who don't. In 2016 America, few ideas are more worthwhile.

  17. Abby Sun's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Has its funny moments. Mostly though goes to show that in the end, (only) money can make your dreams come true.

  18. Max Swanson's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Painfully realistic portrayal of struggling to find success and meaning in your career.

  19. Oluseyi's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

  20. bryanvmh's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Best depiction of Lorne Michaels in movies.

  21. Filipe F. Coutinho's rating of the film Don't Think Twice

Interweaving hopes and daunting realities, Birbiglia masterfully creates an honest story about "making it" and what that term means to different people with different perceptions. After all, success rarely is synonymous with visibility and Don't Think Twice wholeheartedly (even if paradoxically) believes in it.
