The U.S. was founded by drifters, but all it took was the building of one suburb for the drifter to become the scary archetype of all our sins and fears, rootless nowhere man shuffling traintracks with dirty legs and a bloodstained knife. I don't know how many folks Lucas killed - nowhere close to George W. Bush, I'd guess. But Lucas will always seem scarier, and something's fundamentally wrong with that.
