What are people saying?

  • Jacques de Villiers's rating of the film Earth

Geyrhalter's previous doc, Homo Sapiens, was about the earth wiping away humanity. This one is about humanity wiping away the earth. Erde is strongest in the 1st half, but loses focus in the 2nd, taking stylistic detours & forgetting its greatest strengths lie in its relentlessly patient approach. Still, few filmmakers match Geyrhalter's ability to project us into the non-human phenomena that make & unmake us.
